Mother’s Day is fast approaching, which means it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll be celebrating the special women in your life come Sunday 12 May!

For the foodie mums
Our region has some great foodie experiences to offer and this Mother’s Day, a few of our local favourites are pulling out all the stops!
Watercress Creek Olive and Lime Farm will be hosting their Groov’in the Grove Mother’s Day picnic on Sunday 12 May. This event will feature live music, food vans and picnic hampers that you’ll be able to pre-book, running from 3pm – 7pm. Learn more.
The Soul Nook Collective will be hosting its own Mother’s Day picnic on Saturday 11 May from 9am – 2pm. Bring mum along for a ‘Chill’d picnic’, which includes a small posie of flowers, a delicious grazing box, cafe drinks and live music all set within the beautiful boho grounds of the Soul Nook in Marburg. In Ipswich, The Rusty Nail is holding a special Mother’s Day cocktail making class. The class starts at 2pm and includes getting behind the bar to get hands-on and shake things up! Tickets are $60pp, with charcuterie boards available to purchase on the day or when you book. There’s also a 5pm wine and cheese tasting session if evening plans are more mum’s style! This 45-minute guided wine tasting includes four wines paired with four cheeses for $65pp.
For the mums who love to browse
For those getting their shopping done early, or extending their celebrations, The Soul Snook Collective Mother’s Day Market is on Saturday 27 April from 9am. Stallholders will include Lanark Baked Goods, Imbibis Craft Distillery, Timber n Tails, Ray by Design and many more.
You’ll also get the chance to shop up a storm with Mum on Saturday 11 May at The Handmade Expo’s Mega Mother’s Day Market. There will be more than 110 stalls to peruse, selling handmade items including woodwork, candles, clothing and local produce. There will also be live music, food trucks and face painting on the day.
For the adventurous mums
Take mum to new heights with an unforgettable Mother’s Day flight with the team at Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights! She’ll love the tranquil flight over the Ipswich countryside with views to Brisbane City, the Scenic Rim and beyond. After the balloon flight, you’ll also get to enjoy a delicious breakfast at Fourthchild Cafe in the centre of Ipswich.
